SURGICAL SERVICES
At Northwest Medical Center, the capable hands of our surgeons offer a superior level of treatment in our new operating rooms designed with the latest technology.
The main operating rooms are equipped to perform surgical procedures in multiple specialties including gallbladder, stomach and colorectal surgeries, endoscopies, vascular surgery, breast biopsy, mastectomy, hip and knee replacement, bone and ligament repair, sinus surgery, gynecological and foot related procedures. In the Surgery Center OR procedures are also performed by physicians, with the assistance of nursing and anesthesia staff who blend skill and experience with caring and compassion.
Effective April 1, 2009 the Outpatient Surgery Unit was relocated to the new Surgery Center, 2nd floor.
In addition to procedures and surgery, Ambulatory/outpatients may be admitted to the unit for blood transfusions, X-ray mylograms, biopsies and CT radiology studies.

SUPPORTING SERVICES
Patients are encouraged to pre-register within 10 days of surgery with the Outpatient Services Unit for a diagnostic check up. The day before surgery patients are called by an ambulatory surgery nurse to receive their arrival time and surgical instructions.
Patients having outpatient surgery receive a follow up phone call within 48 hours of discharge from the surgery unit.
